Anti-overturning device for vehiclesDescription :
This device detects a dangerous angle of inclination of a vehicle, and launches
a springed rod that knocks on the floor and makes the vechicle bounce back to
vertical position. It mounts on the roof of the vehicle. The adjusting bolt (see figure) allows
triggering at varying angles, ranging from 45 to 65 degrees, depending on the
relative height of the gravity center of the vehicle. The device avoids overturning by : - the launched rod " kicks back" the
vehicle that is about to overturn. (principle of action-reaction) - the extended rod touches the ground,
compresses the spring and slows the rotation of the vehicle. When the spring
starts expanding again, inverts the rotation by pushing the ground. - the existence of the extended rod makes
impossible for the vehicle to reach horizontal position, protecting the side
doors and windows. As a result of the spring action, there is no
damage to the lateral side of the car. The impact of the accident is buffered. 2 or 4 devices are needed for every vehicle,
half oriented to each side. The complete set of 2 or more bracket-mounted
rods doubles as a baggage carrier. Problem solved : Accidents in which lives and vehicles are endangered Used by : Car
makers, car owners. In particular, applied to: ambulances, racing cars, sports
cars, tall vehicles such as double-decker buses. Advantages for user: Won't die in accident Size, weight, materials : made in iron or titanium, will be around 7 kg. Made in aluminum, maybe
4 kg. Competition :
There are devices that detect deviation from the vertical axis, and block gas
supply to the engine or cut trasmission of movement to the wheels. There are systems that avoid overturning in
tractors and construction machines,
based on different principles (like extra wheels). A search in IBM's patents website showed nothing
like my invention. Why my idea is better than competition : this is of general use, doesn't cost much, doesn't take room. Buenos
